Protects you from being out of pocket if your MINI is written off or stolen

How would you feel if your MINI was written off, for example, due to a third party, a fire or theft? In these circumstances you often end up out of pocket, because your insurer is unlikely to give you back the price you paid for your MINI.

Also, if you bought your MINI using finance, your insurance pay out may not be enough to cover the balance you owe your finance company. MINI Shortfall offers you protection against losing out in these tricky situations.

MINI Shortfall offers cover in the following ways:

MINI Shortfall pays the difference, up to the level of cover you choose, between;

• the comprehensive motor insurer’s settlement figure and vehicle invoice price,
  

or (if a greater amount)

• the comprehensive motor insurer’s settlement figure and the outstanding finance amount.

Motor insurers will generally pay you the market value of your MINI at the time it is written off. With MINI Shortfall you are covered for any change in value, no matter how old your MINI is (including any depreciation), up to the level of cover you choose.

Further benefits of MINI Shortfall

• Immediate cover for new and Cherished MINIs, with no mileage limit.
• Policies can be taken out up to 120 days after the delivery date of your vehicle.
• You can tailor the level of cover to suit you. Cover levels of £5,000, £10,000 and £15,000 are available, up to a maximum of 100% of the original invoice price of your MINI.
• We can provide cover for 2, 3 or 4 years, allowing you to choose how long you would like cover for.
• You can pay for your policy either in one payment or 12 monthly instalments (at no extra cost), whichever you prefer.
• If your MINI is written off or stolen (and not recovered) in the first 12 months and you make a claim under the 'new for old' replacement MINI benefit of your MINI insurance policy, the remaining term of your Shortfall policy will be transferred to your new MINI.
• We also cover up to £1000 worth of dealer fitted options.
• In the event of a total loss, our experienced MINI Protect Services team will be on hand to guide you through the claims process.
